Fudge & Friends
I do a weekly gag cartoon for the Life With Dogs website (click the title above to visit the website). It's called Fudge & Friends. I've been doing it for a while, but I'm posting it here for the first time. It's taken a little while, but I'm pretty happy with what it has grown into. I hope you enjoy it :).

To Err Is Bovine Gets in on the Team Cul De Sac Fun
Join Team Cul De Sac in It's fight again Parkinson's disease.

Team Cul De Sac
So this is new for me... I'm just posting links to a cartoon I've done. My Fudge & Friends cartoon will be featuring a couple of the characters from the fantastic comic strip, Cul De Sac. If you are unfamiliar with Cul De Sac you can see it here: http://www.gocomics.com/culdesac/
Team Cul De Sac was formed by Cul De Sac creator Richard Thompson’s friend Chris after Richard was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Cartoonists from everywhere have been invited to donate original art made especially for a book about Parkinson’s awareness in Richard’s honor. All profits from sales of the book will benefit the Michael J Fox Foundation, and the original art will be auctioned as part of the fundraiser. This cartoon is my contribution.
I'll be posting a Cowtoon featuring a Cul De Sac character later as well. Please visit the following links to view my cartoon and to find out more information about Team Cul De Sac:

Congratulations to the Winner!
Here's my final weeks entry. You can click it to see the full sized version...
Don't let the title of this blog fool you... It wasn't me. I did have a great time participating and do feel that being a finalist was a win in itself.
That being said, I'm a hugely competitive person and always have been. I don't like being anything but the clear winner. In this case, I am making an exception. The level of talent was far and away much higher than I thought it would be. And, in my opinion, I think many of the cartoonists involved in this contest are far better and much funnier than many of the cartoonists currently represented by Creators Syndicate.
Unfortunately they only had one development deal to give out, and were looking for a particular style to round out what they currently have. The winning amateur cartoonist was Daniel Beyer. Congratulations Dan. He's a funny guy and has been published in Playboy, The NewYorker, and Reader's Digest... wait did I say amateur ;)
Thanks to everyone for voting and I hope that I was able to create a smile here and there. I will now get back to drawing and posting on a regular basis...
Thanks Again!
Jason

I'm A Finalist!
So if you have not heard the word, I have been selected as one of the 15 finalists in the Cartoon Studios Cartoon contest. I have a few things to say about this.
This is a contest and just like in the movie Highlander, "There Can Be Only One!" So I feel privileged to have made it this far; especially given the quality of many of the cartoons that have been eliminated and the company I now find myself in for this final round.
The winner, announced on May 10th, will be receiving a Syndication Development contract from Creators Syndicate (http://www.creators.com/comics/cat-seeall.html). Creators Syndicate Represents Many great cartoons like BC, Archie, Winnie the Pooh, The Rugrats, Andy Capp, Heathcliff, Wizard of Id and many more. So The winner will be in very good company with the potential to publish a cartoon that could become a US household name.
The cartoons that have been selected for the final round vary wildly in both subject matter and style. What they all seem to have in common is that they are well written, stylistically consistent, and have a certain appeal. At this point it's the judges from Creators Syndicate Inc. who will decide. Their decision will be based on their individual opinions of what is "funny" and thoughts on marketability.
What this means is that just making it to this round can absolutely be considered a win! "They Like Me! They Really Like Me!" ;) I've seen many cartoons with much higher vote counts than mine eliminated every week (I was blown away by the quality of many of these). I'll be publishing a list of links to some of my favorites this week.
All along I have been asking you for votes and these have helped. the Judges use your votes as guides to get a feel for the marketability and mass appeal of the cartoons involved (Think of yourselves as having taken part in a large scale focus group). While the judges do make the final decision, they do rely on your votes as "likeability" guides. So please feel free to vote for your favorite cartoon!

If that cartoon is mine, I'm flattered. Thank you Once again! Vote away, and I hope that I have and can continue to bring a little levity and humor into your life!
Here, In order, are the cartoons that I submitted for each of this contest's 10 weeks.

Cartoon studios contest week 8 update
So, a quick update! I have successfully progressed to round 8 of this 10 round elimination contest... That's right, I'm almost there! As you know each week a large number of cartoonists are eliminated and there are only 34 left out of the 130 that originally started! The only way I will be eliminated is if I don't get enough votes to make the cut.
I have attached a link to this post. This link will take you to this week's cartoon. Please take the time to vote for me. There is a quick one-time registration to do so, but don't worry, they won't send you any spam. Once registered you can vote for me every six hours (four times a day). It would be great if you did that, but realistically anytime you can vote would be great. Once a week or once a day helps me move on.

My Hiatus
Hi Everyone! I realize that I have not posted a new cartoon in some time. I have not stopped drawing, and I will be posting again soon.
If you have not heard I am currently involved in the Cartoonists Studio's contest for a syndication development contract. How cool would it be to see my Cowtoons in your local newspaper!
The contest has ten rounds that last a week each. Each week a large number of cartoonists are eliminated. I am currently in round 6 and look to be on track for round 7. The only way I will be eliminated is if I don't get enough votes to make the cut.

MOOvies#4
From the Cartoon Series "To Err Is Bovine, MOOvies"
So my Buddy, Shane (Shane-Bo) has a birthday today, as does my friend Pete Witham front-man of the GREAT BAND: Pete Witham & The Cozmik Zombies (You can find them on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pete-Witham-The-Cozmik-Zombies/247711001958)
Anyway, I'm dedicating today's MOOvie Cowtoon to them... It feels oddly appropriate...
